Soft Form with a Tactile Look
The Cotton Vase from the Forma Vase Collection brings a unique softness to sculptural design through its pillowy, interwoven surface. Its shape mimics the look of thickly woven fabric, frozen in time and reimagined as a solid sculptural form. The gentle curves and rounded folds add personality and visual comfort, offering an aesthetic that feels warm, inviting, and unexpectedly bold.
- Dimensions: 175 x 104 x 104mm
- Weight: 100g
This contrast between visual softness and actual solidity creates an eye-catching effect. At first glance, the vase looks padded and touchable, yet it stands firm and structured. As a result, this playful illusion captures attention and brings a sense of creative fun to modern decor.
Bold Surface Inspired by Woven Materials: Cotton Vase
Every inch of the Cotton Vase’s body features an exaggerated pattern that resembles braided threads or chunky knit fabric. These deep, interlocked textures wrap fluidly around the cylindrical form, producing a rhythmic flow of repeating, tactile shapes. The sculptural weave feels almost hand-crafted, with its rounded intersections and balanced spacing creating a harmonious visual rhythm.
This rich surface texture leads the eye around the form and adds depth without being overpowering. The upper portion transitions smoothly into a clean, untextured rim, offering visual relief and completing the vase’s shape with balance and intention.
Printed with Matte PLA for a Soft Finish
Crafted from matte PLA, the Cotton Vase boasts a smooth, non-glossy finish that complements its woven texture. Unlike shiny plastic, matte PLA reduces light glare and emphasizes the gentle curves of the design. This finish softens the appearance of the material, reinforcing the illusion of softness while enhancing the sculptural depth.
Matte PLA also provides a pleasant tactile experience. Though the vase is solid, its surface feels refined and comfortable in hand. The material is lightweight yet sturdy, making the vase easy to position, reposition, or style in any setting.
Decorative Accent with Versatile Style: Cotton Vase
The Cotton Vase functions as both an art piece and a practical decor element. Its stable base and open top allow it to hold dried or artificial stems with ease. While not intended for water, it still serves as a beautiful foundation for lightweight arrangements or as a standalone accent.
This vase shines in cozy, modern, or texturally rich interiors. It works well in neutral environments where the pattern becomes the focus or in colourful spaces where it adds visual structure. Whether placed on a shelf, side table, or entryway console, it makes a subtle but memorable statement.
A Cozy Interpretation of Contemporary Design
The Cotton Vase blends the comfort of soft materials with the elegance of clean, contemporary form. Its basket-like texture, matte finish, and approachable proportions come together to create a piece that feels both artistic and emotionally warm. It adds a sculptural dimension to home decor while maintaining a sense of familiarity.
As part of the Forma Vase Collection, the Cotton Vase complements other shapes beautifully or stands confidently on its own. Whether you’re curating a shelf or selecting a meaningful gift, this vase offers a perfect blend of texture, simplicity, and visual intrigue.

よくある質問
What size is the Cotton Vase?
The Cotton Vase measures 175 x 104 x 104mm and weighs about 100g. It's a compact sculptural piece that fits comfortably on a shelf, side table or entryway console without taking over the space.
What is the Cotton Vase made from?
It's 3D printed in matte PLA, which gives it a smooth, non-glossy finish. The matte surface cuts down on light glare and emphasizes the gentle curves of the woven texture, so the vase reads as soft even though it's solid and structured.
Can I put water and fresh flowers in the Cotton Vase?
No, the Cotton Vase isn't intended to hold water. It works best with dried or artificial stems, or simply as a standalone sculptural accent thanks to its stable base and open top.
Why does the vase look padded or fabric-like?
The body features an exaggerated pattern that resembles braided threads or chunky knit fabric, with deep interlocked textures wrapping around the cylindrical form. That contrast between visual softness and actual solidity is the whole point of the design, and the upper portion transitions into a clean, untextured rim for visual balance.
Where does the Cotton Vase fit best in a home?
It suits cozy, modern or texturally rich interiors. In neutral rooms the woven pattern becomes the focal point, and in more colourful spaces it adds visual structure. A shelf, side table or entryway console all work well.
Who makes the Cotton Vase?
LC Designs produces it in-house at the studio, where all printing, sublimation and finishing take place. Some designs in the range are licensed from other creators and printed under those licences, and nothing is bought in finished for resale.
